You need to use this site for other points of view and then use your own brain for sorting out the quality of advice or comments. As for outside ridicule...there's always gonna be someone who wants to make fun of other people, sometimes you will be the target, sometimes not.

Ignore it all...again, use your own brain to evaluate yourself, and the input of other non-professionals. If you want professional care, then you need to go to a psychiatrist, psychologist or licensed clinical counselor.

Even those with personal experience can screw you up by giving advice based on their situations, even if it was good advice for them, it may not be so good for you. That's why there are professionals and laws against non-pro's dispensing medicine, etc.How can I use this site to recieve quality mental health advice without outside ridacule?
You got to be kidding,half of the answers in here are from persons who are one taco short of a combination plate
Get professional help. That is quality advice.
That's almost impossible... You just got to take your chances and take what you want from it and ignore the rest. I had posted a question/comment on the emails that I had received that were quite heart wrenching and I took them to heart. I really got hurt and upset about them, so I wrote a comment on Y/A on what had happened and the true helpers and advisers were really supportive. I take everything personal so it was nice to have some friendly comments. Good Luck
don't use this site to get quality advice about anything

there are no professionals here and most of us are just very opinionated and the rest of us just guess, we're very imature and we've no answers

if your mental health is important to you, seek professional help
This site is really not able to give you quality mental health advice . . . it's a bunch of folks giving their unprofessional opinions, which is why ridicule is so common. Seek professional help if you need quality medical advice.
I doubt if you can use this site for that, you're not going to find a person, who is a professional, and that kind of a quality person, that is going to find the time to help you ..but, you will find many people who are also experienced, and can give you links and referrals, and maybe there you will find what you need and want
The thing to remember about on here is that we are just normal everyday people. The only experience we have is usually our own. We share our our experiences and understanding of how someone else is feeling. We are never a substitute for professional help - never.

We give out sites that you can read for your self. It's up to you to define if they are of use or make sense. We are merely a kind of encyclopedia of personal experiences - that's it. There are some vile people who post/answer on here for kicks. The majority of us want to help others and educate them on illnesses, medications, therapies etc. We can only do that from a lay man's perspective. Some of the troll posters you will get to know and so you know to ignore their answers/questions. So again I will reiterate - we are no substitute for professional advice. Even those that claim they are doctor/nurse/therapist etc may not be who they claim. And even if they are they are still no substitute for professional advice from someone actually seeing you.
Well, most here are not doctors, nurses or psychologists or psychiatrists. If you want quality advice contact a professional. What you will get here are other people's experiences and guesses and sometimes some sympathy and a few jokers.
Look on WEBMD.COM
Most of us are not qualified professionals on here. If that is what you are looking for then please seek out therapy from someone who is trained.
Outside ridicule? You mean the lamos who answer just for spite? Well, we just try our best to ignore them. ^^;

I'm not saying you're gonna get QUALITY health advice on YA...we're not professionals, although many of us have experienced mental health probs/incidents. I myself am currently recovering/fighting severe depression/anxiety.

What kind of things did you want to know?
