hey,
one of my best friends works on the internet. he said that the internet wasn't working the best right now i would probably not do it but if you are here is some advice.
1. go to Google/MSN/YAHOO. and create adds for your products.
2. make a page full of advertisements of your products on 1 page.
3. then make a page about each item.
I have worked with my friend for a while and this works if you try it you might make some money! My mum wants to start selling items online - any advice? Eg sites to use, pitfalls, how to do p%26amp;p, any tips?
It depends on what you plan on selling? Is this something that you will do continuously? Are you interested in started a business selling things on-line? If so I have a few recommendations.
1. I would get a website where people can go to find your stuff.
2. You will need a shopping cart on your site.
3. Advertise in any way that you can. It will take a while before the search engines start to recognize your site and find it to be legit.
There is software from a Web Development company that I highly recommend. Web Shop Manager, www.webshopmanager.com is a complete content management system that will allow you to control everything on your website, including any changes that you want to make, without having to deal with a web designer all the time. The software also gives you your own shopping cart, so you essentially have your own store in the palm of your hands. They also do amazing design work. I have my own on-line boutique and went through them and have been very happy. You can check out my boutique to get an idea.My mum wants to start selling items online - any advice? You can start selling your stuff on website such as ebay etc (they will charge you to advert your goods) or use free advertising website such as gumtree.com.
You can always caculate the advertise fee up front %26amp; add it to your p%26amp;p charges so you don't loose money from your pocket!
you can check your selling fees on ebay if you need to. good luck!
One more thing, Do not send goods to anyone if you don't have money up front! e.g. cheque, e-cheque via paypal etc.
eBay is pretty easy, take pictures of your product, put it on auction, then receive payment through Paypal, finally you ship it. If you would rather deal with people in your area you can use Craiglist and they can pick it up at your house.
www.ebay.com is a great website to use to sell items as well s amazon.com. i prefer ebay. good luck
Just register with e-bay, it,s easy to use and is very helpfull if you have any problems.
