Who thinks teen forums/advice sites need better age seperation?

I feel forums regarding young people should fall into two catagories 13-16 and young adult 17-19. There is a huge difference in the two groups, the young adults are adults able to join the military, move out on their own etc., where the younger teens are still very dependant on their parents etc. I think a broad forum trying to cover such a broad range of levels does not work very well and causes confusion.Who thinks teen forums/advice sites need better age seperation?
If you're referring to this forum, it's actually an excellent way to communicate. I'm 19, and while I don't need advice from people my age and younger, I feel that I have some worthwhile things to say, especially to younger girls (13-15) who are going through things I have gone through myself.

Also, since there is no real way to control who goes into what forum in a chat room setting, setting age restrictions on who can be where would not work.

There isn't as huge a difference as you think. I have more life experience than the 13 year olds, definitely, but I WAS them 6 years ago. Definitely in maturity level, there is a difference between a 13 year old and a 19 year old. But a 16 year old and a 17 year old are on about the same maturity level. There aren't many differences. Putting them in separate forums doesn't make sense. That's probably why there aren't any.

Also, it's great to meet people of all ages and walks of life, because there are so many different opinions out there, and it's a great way to stretch your brain, to talk to different people and trade opinons.

With the adolescent section on Yahoo Answers, I think it was originally intended as a place for parents of adolescents to talk about their adolescent children and figure out what to do with them, and it's grown into a place where teens go to ask for advice and parents of teens go to figure out what on earth to do with them.

It definitely does not cause confusion. It's a little disorganized, maybe, but there really isn't a better way to organize it.Who thinks teen forums/advice sites need better age seperation?
Anytime both age ranges are together it can cause problems/ confusion etc.

Both categories should be seperated, they should not be talked to as if they were on the same level.

And neither one of these age groups are grown!!! Lol!

Surely they will fix this problem!

No, but I do believe that there should be some sepration. For example, there should be a forum where you must be under 18 to join, or a forum in which you must be over 18 to join.
I think there should be an age limit on here! It would stop all these kids from wasting our time with dumb questions that they are making up just to p.o. the adults that have real questions and advice!
